Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026. Your academic data belongs to you. We never collect it, transmit it, or store it — not even anonymously.
📋 Privacy At a Glance
1. Information We Do Not Collect
GradeCalculating.com is a fully client-side application. Every grade calculation — weighted averages, final exam predictions, test score percentages, GPA estimates — is executed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party server.
We do not collect, store, process, or have access to:
- Assignment names, scores, or weights you enter into any calculator
- Target grades, current grades, or final exam scores
- Your name, email address, school name, or student ID
- Your IP address (beyond standard Cloudflare infrastructure logs — see Section 4)
- Demographic information of any kind
When you close or navigate away from this website, any data you entered into the calculators is immediately gone. There is nothing to delete because nothing was ever saved.
2. Local Browser Storage
We use your browser's built-in localStorage API for one purpose only: to remember whether you have chosen dark mode or light mode. This preference is stored as a single key-value pair (theme: "dark" or theme: "light") on your own device only.
This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for gradecalculating.com. No grade or academic information is ever stored in localStorage or sessionStorage.
4. Third-Party Services
We use one infrastructure provider to serve this website:
Our website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare's global edge network. As a byproduct of this infrastructure, Cloudflare processes standard HTTP request logs — including anonymized IP addresses and page request timestamps — for the purposes of security, DDoS prevention, and performance optimization. This is standard practice for all websites using CDN infrastructure. We do not sell, share, or use this data for marketing. Cloudflare's own privacy practices are governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, HubSpot, Intercom, Hotjar, or any other behavioral analytics or advertising platform.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
GradeCalculating.com is an educational tool designed for use by students of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We take children's privacy seriously and have designed this site to fully comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Because our site collects no personal information whatsoever from any user:
- No parental consent is required to use our calculators
- No accounts, registration, or personal data entry is involved
- No behavioral profiling of children is performed
- No targeted advertising is displayed
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child's use of this website, please contact us at privacy@gradecalculating.com. We will respond within 5 business days.
6. External Links
Our pages may occasionally contain links to external websites (for example, links to Wikipedia for academic reference). These external sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or practices. We link only to reputable sources and always use rel="noopener noreferrer" on external links for your security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. However, if you are located in the European Union (GDPR) or California (CCPA) and have a specific concern or request, we encourage you to contact us.
You can also clear any locally stored preferences at any time by visiting your browser settings and clearing site data for gradecalculating.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our site evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Any changes will never reduce your privacy protections below the standards described in this document. Our commitment to zero academic data collection is permanent.
